Music Themed Gifts

I just had the experience this Christmas of one of the most phenomenal gifts of my music being given, perhaps, so far, in my career. No, that is not quite true, come to think of it. There was the gift that was given by a husband for his wife on her 50th birthday, that she liked better than the vintage blue Thunderbird he gave her. In fact, there have been so many! The one by the whole family for their mother, Carol - a “Butter Yellow Lullaby Dance”. This one was a gift by my friend, Margo to a whole family, her dearest friends, a mother and her four grown children, with music written for each one. They come from Venezuela. Amazing family. The name of the piece is “Verdaderos Amigos” - “True Friends”. I will be getting this piece up on Spotify this coming week. I’m still in the process of creating a video for the last movement of the piece, which also should be done this week. But the joy! The joy of a gift of music, given to evoke the person you care for. That is quite a wonder.

And speaking of wonder, here is a poem you may love…
