An Adventure...

Yesterday, I was able to get up to one of my favorite places in Ashland, the area up above the park on BLM land called “The Fairy Ponds”. Here the creek winds around through the woods and if you follow the trail back as far as you can go, you come to a place where a huge boulder has been split apart by natural forces perhaps a million years ago. The pool that forms there is a place I have spent many an hour. I wanted to go there to get a picture of that place to form a backdrop for the second section of my piece “Verdaderos Amigos” - “true friends” - which was written as a gift from one of my best friends, Margo, for a family who are her dearest friends. The second section is about the second brother, George, who has this strong and deeply romantic quality. I wanted those rocks in the video for him.

It was rainy, off and on, as it so often is in Ashland in the wintertime. The whole trek was a great outing for a Saturday before the end of the year. I want to share what I made here. I am loving these short two minute pieces, which gives more people the option of affording a piece of music as a gift for themselves or someone they love!
